Drugs
There are many drugs that can cause sexual dysfunction. These include, diuretics (water tablets), anti-depressants such as SSRI’s, nervous system depressants such as morphine, beta-blockers such as propanalol, anti-ulcer drugs such as cimetidine and some anti-cancer drugs. Interestingly, oestrogens can reduce sex drive in women who are taking them as part of therapy. This list is by no means exhaustive so check the leaflet that came with tablet or ask your doctor if you are not certain if the drug you are taking could be causing or contributing to sexual dysfunction.
The number one sexual dysfunction drug (probably number one cause of sexual dysfunction generally) though is alcohol. The other legal drug, tobacco, follows it not far behind.
