Agnus Castus
Vitex, also know as Chaste Berry, is the number one remedy for the treatment of PMT.
Vitex does not actually contain hormones. It appears to increase progesterone by stimulating the release of a hormone called luteinizing hormone from the pituitary gland, helping to balance hormone production in the first and second half of the menstrual cycle.
Vitex is also thought to normalize excessive prolactin levels and promote fertility.
Contraindications/ Known Drug Interactions:
Do not use if pregnant or breast feeding
Agnus castus is not suitable for children
Do not take Agnus Castus with medication for Parkinson’s Disease or drugs that affect dopamine levels in the brain.
